A watch not shown in any of Hamilton’s regular catalogs. Factory information indicates the “Vancott” was proposed during World War II as an officer’s model wristwatch, but its release was delayed until after the war ended. It has a solid gold bezel and steel caseback. The “Vancott” was the first Hamilton to use two different metals in its case composition. Hamilton factory records show that 2,918 were produced, but there is also information indicating that far fewer were actually released for sale. This example is in excellent condition showing only light wear and some small scratches. The lower right lug is correctly marked “10K” on the underside. The steel caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 35mm long and 29mm wide. The 987S Hacking movement is running well only differing 30 seconds per day. It has a Hamilton band and buckle, along with box.
