Hamilton Ericsson,
The Ericsson was named after Leif Ericsson, the Norse explorer often credited with reaching North America centuries before Columbus. Fittingly, the watch carried one of the most distinctive case designs of the Explorer series. The Ericsson shared a design with the Illinois Andover, however the former was about 1.25x bigger than the latter. It has a strong, rectangular case with bold curves and a powerful wrist presence, giving it an almost architectural quality. The dial design echoed this strength, with sharp numerals and clear hands that reinforced the watch’s functional yet handsome look. The Ericsson embodied the theme of discovery in both name and form, and like its siblings, it was driven by the precise 401 movement. Among the Explorer series, it remains one of the hardest to find Hamilton watches, period, making it particularly desirable among collectors—in fact, its hamilton second rarest watch in terms of total model production.

Piping Rock
The Piping Rock, released in 1928 and produced until 1935 , is one of Hamilton’s most iconic and collectible early wristwatches. The model featured a sharply angled, multi-faceted case that reflected the bold Art Deco tastes of the early 1930s, giving it a dynamic, architectural appearance on the wrist. Its stepped bezel and sculpted lugs emphasized the geometric style, while the dial was typically enamel with stylized numerals and cathedral or blued hands. Both gold-filled and solid gold cases were offered, with some engraved versions adding a decorative flourish to the strong lines of the case. Powered by the 987 or 979 movement, the Piping Rock was as robust as it was striking, and it became a symbol of Hamilton’s ability to fuse technical excellence with cutting-edge design, helping the company compete directly with other luxury wristwatches in the market.
