Whitney, WGF, Lume dial w/ Hamilton Band, C. 1931-1934
Introduced in January of 1931, the “Whitney” has a large and very striking flared and stepped case. Its dramatic design and low production make it among the most desirable of the early 1930s Hamilton models. It is a quite uncommon, with only 4,136 produced in white. This example is in excellent condition with only a very small amount of brassing to the bezel corners and lug tips which is generally not noticeable in light. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with some light dings and scratches. The case measures 36mm long and 30mm wide. Original luminous dial is quite nice and has a pleasing patina. Photos were taken with no crystal but a new glass crystal will be installed when purchased. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987-F manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. This watch also features a later period Hamilton Band in good condition that matches the watch nicely.
